About Me

My approach

Since 2008, I have helped individuals apply for pardons and commutations both by directly representing them and, more frequently, by advising law firms with clemency clients or potential clients.

My belief is that it is not important who publicly gets credit for obtaining a pardon or commutation for a client. It is which client and firm actually gets a favorable decision rather than a letter of rejection.

Extensive federal experience

I served as U.S. Pardon Attorney from 1997 to 2008, under President William Clinton and President George W. Bush.

Before that, I served for five years as Counsel to the Deputy Attorney General where my responsibilities included reviewing clemency recommendations and other matters related to the Office of the Pardon Attorney.
